Fillaball : Activity : Magic : The Pick-up

Check out the basic tips in the intro or download the guidance notes. The Pick-up is a slightly more complicated illusion. As well as defying gravity you will need to alter the normal operation of the Pod. Try picking up a small plastic ball. As you practice you can try different types of object.
Tumble and Hold Place the Pod on the surface in the closed position with the handle at the top. Tumble the Pod so it is open. Move your hand inside the opening and gently place two fingers on the edge of the inner revolving ball. This temporarily prevents gravity working at it should! Keeping your fingers on the inner ball, lift the Pod so that the opening is over the object you are picking up.

Drop, Pick-up and Lift When the Pod is a few inches from the surface, release your fingers and quickly drop the Pod so that it completely covers the object. Be careful not to catch your fingers! Lift the Pod into the air. (Slightly heavier objects may require you to 'drop' the Pod with a bit more force or gently nudge the Pod as you lift it up.)
