Fillaball : Activity : Creative : Paper Mache
You can use your Activity Pod as a great shell for constructing paper mache models. And still have all the benefits of the gravity controlled storage space!!

Preparation and paper base
Prepare your materials. You will need cut up strips of newspaper and get card, PVA glue, sticky tape, a brush for the glue and paint.

Start by covering up the opening with sticky tape. Wrap the paper around the Pod using the sticking tape. Do not glue directly onto the Pod. If you want to make ridges (as in the pumpkin in the picture) or a ring for a space ship (as seen earlier), now is the time to create the basic shape .

Making the Final Shape
Continue applying strips onto your shape and painting them into position with the glue. Remember to leave time for it to dry, especially if you are adding shapes. It is easy to add a nose or ears by folding pieces of paper into the right shape. If you are really good at it, you can add holes for string or ear-rings. See the gallery for different things people have managed to put onto their models
Decoration
Make sure that the paper mache is dry, actually very dry! Now you can start painting and decorating your Pod. Go wild!! At this point remember to cut away the paper mache and sticky tape covering the opening (ask an adult for help). Take a picture and send it to us. It may appear on our gallery. And when you are fed up with your model, cut it off and use our Pod for something else - or start another paper mache model!!
